A cross-country triathlon to deliver hope, a school and baseball training facilities to under served youth in the Dominican Republic...
Brian Bauer, Bekah Walker, and Phil Herron will begin a major campaign for organization I Love Baseball (ILB) to raise $300,000 to build baseball and educational facilities in Barahona, Dominican Republic. The tour consists of a triathlon across the USA and ends in the Dominican Republic, the home of ILB. This trio left its home base in Seattle, WA with bikes, running shoes, and goggles to follow a preplanned route across the USA. Brian and Phil will be swimming eligible bodies of water, running national parks, and cycling everywhere in between. Bekah is the trip coordinator and support vehicle driver. Along the route, the Delivering Hope trio will tour Minor League baseball games and speak to schools, organizations, local sports programs, and other groups interested in helping actualize the I Love Baseball dream you too can deliver hope.
The Deliver Hope Tour is a fundraising campaign from the I Love Baseball Foundation. The Deliver Hope Tour will be raising awareness and funding to support I Love Baseball while it works to restructure the youth baseball system in the Dominican Republic by integrating education with athletic training to develop great minds, great players, and great leaders. I Love Baseball will then work with this next generation of educated leaders to encourage the spread of these athletic, educational and leadership qualities back into local communities through the young leaders and mentorship programs.
Money raised during the Deliver Hope Tour will go specifically towards buying land and building a premier educational and athletic facility for under-served youth in the Dominican Republic. It takes roughly 15,000 bricks to construct and "furnish" the school and 60,000 square feet to build a baseball field giving over 300 kids the education they need year after year.
