Why Delivering Hope Tour? It's amazing the effect that can come about when we are fortunate enough to be able to pursue our passions. I feel fortunate to have had such great experiences, great role models, and great opportunities in my life and I know that there was almost always someone else behind me making a sacrifice in order for me to have the opportunities that I've had. It is such a win/win that I get to pursue my passions and at the same time play the support role for someone else who hasn't had the same opportunities that I have had that allows them to also pursue their passions in such a positive way.
Phil Herron
Philip grew up in Gig Harbor, WA with his parents, Tom and Verna, and his three brothers: Matt, David, and Chris. After high school, Philip went on to study business and Spanish at the University of Washington, but his passion for building and real estate lead him away from the corporate business route. He's been building with RW Anderson Homes (www.rwandersonhomes.com) for the past three years-two while finishing school at UW and one since graduating. Not only has he been able to learn valuable skills in building and customer service, but this is also where he met Brian as they worked along side each other.
Philip has been familiar with triathlons for a long time, as both of his parents have done many triathlons including the full Ironman competitions. Excited to be a part of this adventure that is bigger than himself and about more than just crossing the country, Philip could not pass up the opportunity to play a small role in the bigger picture of what I Love Baseball is doing.
Why Delivering Hope Tour? For generations, the lessons learned through sports-hard work, dedication, perseverance, learning how to set goals and accomplish those goals--has transcended from the playing field to the real world. I Love Baseball is encouraging this character growth, as well as facilitating a healthy educational environment for these boys to have the best possible chance to play baseball, but more importantly, to be successful, contributing members of a developing nation. I Love Baseball is an inspiring organization because it is tangibly meeting the people where they're at and empowering them for the future. I am supporting I Love Baseball and everything that they're doing to provide opportunities and to change lives.

Why Delivering Hope Tour?
My experiences in athletics have had a tremendous impact on my character and work ethic. There is so much value in working with a team towards a common goal. Skills and values you learn together while training and competing translate into life skills that will help you succeed in relationships, school, and the workplace. I am excited about the work that ILB is doing in the Dominican Republic, giving young athletes the skills needed to not only succeed on the baseball field, but in life. Lives are being transformed and opportunities provided that would otherwise be out of reach because of the dedication of coaches, staff and supporters of ILB.
